Leonard is a total sweetheart!  Salukis are known as the Persian Greyhound, and were considered almost royalty among the ancient Pharaohs.  Salukis are one of the oldest breeds still in existence; they date back over 4,000 years.  If you look at Leonard’s loooong legs and lean body, you can definitely see his Saluki heritage.  He is totally housebroken and up-to-date on all his shots.  Leonard is very smart, he learned how to open the baby gate with his mouth!  He crept up the stairs one night and jumped into bed with me.  So, that’s where he sleeps at night now!  J  I have tried to put that intelligence to good use, and we’ve been working on our manners and basic commands.  He is crate trained and good with “sit”, “stay”, and “lie down”.  Leonard is very playful and energetic.  He can be mischievous, so I have to watch him to make sure he doesn’t get into things.  He’s got a little bit of puppy mouthiness (which I am sure he will outgrow), but for now, I would not recommend him for a family with young children.  Leonard is currently 30 lbs. and I expect he will top out at about 40-45 lbs.
