Alex and Ellie's owner is in his 80's and in poor health. After a quadruple bypass, a pacemaker, and a broken collarbone, he has decided he must find them a new home. Alex looks to be a lab/hound/rottie mix. He is 10 years old, and his original owner was killed in 9-11. Alex survived for a number of weeks in his owner's apartment with another dog until someone found them. They were taken to a shelter where Alex's buddy was was adopted the same day they arrived, and Alex was left there alone until rescued by his owner today. Alex has a gentle soul and is very quiet natured. Ellie is a 6 year-old, dalmation/lab mix and ended up at the shelter after wandering the streets. She was emaciated, had a broken pelvis, and had been abused. Her current owner adopted her and nursed her back to health both emotionally and physically. Today, Ellie is a hapy, healthy girl who loves to sit on her owner's lap (when he lets her!). She likes to "mother" Alex and is energetic and playful.
