Love the small size of a Chihuahua, but do not want a yappy dog? Want a dog you can take with you everywhere, but who is also happy and calm at home? Then Chico is the dog for you! He is a 7 years old, 13 lbs, neutered Chihuahua mix, up to date with all his shots and very healthy. He is a quiet and very sweet dog. He is initially shy with strangers and big dogs, but he warms up to people and other dogs very quickly. When I am sitting down watching TV he will come on my lap, but he does not want to be pick up all the time. He barks only occasionally, and usually when my dogs start it. He cries to go out when he needs to and loves to go out for a walk or, better yet, a car ride! He is a great little traveler and very good in the car. He is good on the leash and does not pull, but like most male dogs he is a "detailed sniffer" and like to spend a little time on selected smells... At 13 lbs, he is very manageable and he can also keep a good pace on the leash. He is neutered and does not mark the house. He is totally house and crate trained. Actually, he LOVES his crate. I leave it open with his bed inside and when we are not walking or playing, he spends most of his time in it with his bed and blankie. He is incredibly low maintenance for a little dog. If he is cold, he will ask to come on the bed with us at night and will not bother me at all. And in the morning, I get lots of kisses...
