Bailey

Female (Altered) — Date of Birth: 07/17/2006 (17 years old (Senior))
Bluetick Coonhound Mix
Bailey is a 2.5 year old female Bluetick Hound. She has a wonderful personality is incredibly smart and is truly a family pet. She is extremely affectionate and loves to be the center of attention however she is content to just go and lie down for a nap--even in the midst of commotion. She can be a little skittish around other dogs, but primarily only on a leash. She has had exposure to Dog Parks and does very well. When around cats or other small animals such as squirrels she doesn't get excited or even react. However she has only been exposed to these types of animals while on a leash. Bailey is both house/crate trained and will even lay down and roll over for you to wipe her paws when entering the house. She is good on a leash but does have a very fast pace and has a tendency to run and can jerk you. I would not recommend children under the age of 12 or 100 pounds walk her--she can pull them down. Bailey is a barker and a howler-especially when Fire Trucks have their sirens on. Bailey's diet consists of Purina Adult Dog Food (Lamb and Rice). No table food. She absolutely loves pig ears and raw hides (flavored). She isn't a big eater- there are days where she will only eat once a day, but I generally feed her twice a day (morning and evening). Bailey is fluent in English and generally understands any commands you give her. She is very submissive. People with small children under the age of seven should watch closely when children play with her. She is not aggressive but if involved in rough play with a small child, she does mouth little children's arms and legs.
