Kate is a very special dog who is very ready for her forever home and whatever it contains (except cats). She came into AFH from a very bad situation, but has gained her confidence and ability to live life as any normal dog would. She'd be a wonderful companion to a more dominant dog of any age, especially an active one. Her favorite pastime is playing with the other dogs. Her next most favorite pastime is pulling all of the bedding out of her crate and trailing it around the house. When the other dogs romp too actively, she sits in her crate and watches quietly. She enjoys sitting in her crate or on the comfortable chair, and loves being held. She is shy at Adoption Day because there are so many sights and sounds that it can be overwhelming for a pure-bred sight/scent hunting hound--but if you come and meet her in her foster home, you'll see her wonderful playful personality come out. She's crate-trained and house-trained, not a big eater (even of treats!) and prefers tug toys to things that can be retrieved (that's for those OTHER dogs in the house!).
