Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie Mix
Hi my name is Joe Joe and my paperwork says I am a full bred Yorkshire Terrier. I’m just a bigger size then the normal "toy" size. I weigh about 15 pounds and stand just under a foot high. I am 7 months old (born Feb 17th) and pretty much full grown, though I may fill out a tiny bit more. My original owners surrendered me to a shelter and then AFH rescued me from the cage at the shelter and put me in with a great and fun foster home. I am a really sweet little guy and love to cuddle on my foster mom’s lap. I also really enjoy playing with toys and especially like it when someone throws them. I bring it back quite well too, though sometimes I actually enjoy a game of keep away too. I play well with other dogs and I have shown interest in my foster kitty though seem to know I have to keep some sort of a distance. I am extremely good in my crate, and if you toss a treat in I will run in there and lay down. I stay quite all night long even when you leave the house and leave my crate dry. I have had a few accidents in my foster mom’s home, but it is just because I’m still trying to get use to her schedule and she just doesn’t recognize my signal. Other wise if I’m not already house trained, I am very nearly so. I would make a great dog for a first time dog owner as long as you do bring me to obedience training. I am a pretty smart boy and am food motivated. I’m afraid I do have a bad habit of begging and have even tried to grab food off the table when people are not looking. My foster mom has been working with me on this, but I do need someone to reinforce this. I am very good with kids as well, though my foster mom would prefer children older than 5 years old as I do have a tendency to mouth hands when I’m excited. I’m not trying to bite I just don’t know that I can’t play with people the same way I play with other dogs. So I would need someone to teach me that I cannot play that way. Overall I am a great well socialized dog. Even though I do enjoy my foster mom and her dogs and cat I really do need to find a loving home to call my own. Please come and visit me at the Chantilly Petco off rt. 50. I’m sure you will see that I am as sweet and outgoing as I look in my picture.
