Basset Hound Mix
Hi! My name is Brandy and I am a one year old Basset Hound mix. I came to AFH pregnant and gave birth to my pups around October. Now that they are almost old enough it is now time for me to find a "forever home". I am more on the petite side compared to a full breed Basset Hound, only weigh about 35 pounds. There are times my foster mom thinks I might be mixed with a bit of Beagle judging by my size. I am a really sweet girl and have a bit more energy than a normal Basset. I get along great with other dogs and I am just learning about this other animal my foster mom calls a cat. So far all I do is bark at her, I did learn real quick that cat claws hurt so I keep my distance. I am still working on my crate training but appear to be real close now. My foster mom is not quite sure if I'm house trained yet, but if you let me out as soon as I eat and one or two other times I shouldn't have too many accidents. Judging by my personality my foster mom is pretty sure I'll do well with kids preferably older than 5 years as I do have a tendency to jump up on people and could accidentally knock down toddlers. I can be taught not to jump up on people and my foster mom is working with me on this, though I am still forgetting my manners right now. My foster mom has noticed that I do have a slight stubborn streak and just a bit of a one track mind, what can I say that is the hound in me. Obedience training would do me good, and will help remind me that I need to listen all the time, and not just on my terms. Are you looking for a real sweet girl you can give a good hug to, and win a kiss in return? Looking for a dog that is not too energetic, but not too mellow? Then I am your girl. E-mail my foster mom if you want a little more information, otherwise I may be at our next adoption event waiting to meet you.
