The Potomac Falls High School chapter of DECA reached out to AFH to ask if they could sponsor a Walk-A-Thon to benefit the rescue as one of their projects this year. For those of you who are not familiar with DECA, it is an organization that “prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.” We are honored that this group of high school students chose AFH as the beneficiary of their hard work.
Please help us make this project a huge success for this hardworking team! The event will take place on Saturday, November 3rd from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM. This will be a three-mile walk through Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling, VA and you will be accompanied by some adoptable dogs from the rescue (and hopefully some AFH alumnae, as well!)
Registration is $10.00 and includes a commemorative T-Shirt (while supplies last). Please consider joining – or better yet, get your friends to sign up and bring a team!
An informational flyer is available at http://to-afh.org/WalkathonFlyer
The online registration form can be found at https://bit.ly/Paws4ACause (case sensitive) – note that you must register and pay your registration fee separately and you may also pay on-site at the event.
There is currently an issue with online registration. The school is working to resolve the problem and it should be working no later than Wednesday, Oct 24. If you’re having issues, please email William.Smallwood@lcps.org for assistance.

These students have worked hard to coordinate this event. Let’s work together to make it a huge success for them!
