Hello. My name is Wishes. I'm a very pretty puppy. The shelter said I was a Boston Terrier mix, probably because of my color and markings. Who knows? My foster mom thinks I am a hound mix...maybe with Basenji. How exotic! I'm a pretty big girl now at 16 weeks. I weigh 26.5 lbs, and am growing. I may grow up to be about 50 lbs. I'm sweet and fairly submissive. I'm quite happy, loving and affectionate. I play nicely with all my friendly foster dogs. Kim and Sasha rough house with me all day. I let the small puppy maul me, and we take puppy naps together. I'm even nice to the kitty cats. That big, old Weimaraner is kind of grumpy (I'm learning to stay away from her!), and there is a boy JRT who thinks he is the Prince. I know that I am a fairly tale Princess who could grant you Wishes! If I could have 3 Wishes, I would wish: 1. That I will grow into my ears, nose and paws, 2. Hi! It's me Warren again. I'm now five months old and starting to wonder what I'm doing wrong. Every week I attend the adoption event and everyone thinks I'm handsome, smart and a nice boy. Then they walk right past me to those pesky younger pups or they say I''m not quite perfect. One family said I'd get too big. One family said I wouldn't get big enough. What's a pup to do? So let me again repeat my virtues - housebroken, crate trained, mellow, not a big barker, I sit, get off the couch when asked, give high fives (ok only for a treat but still...) Did I mention how soft my head and fur is? How attractive my brown and white markings are, how much I love sitting at your feet? How I can entertain myself with a bin of toys and I go straight in the crate for a piece of chicken jerky? I'm also getting good on the leash. It's hard as there's so much to smell but I'm starting to understand that walk means walk - not stop and smell the mailboxes. I have all my shots and am ready to go home. I'll probably be about 60 lbs when I'm fully grown - not too big and not too small. I think that's a great size. Please come see me this Sunday and skip those munchkin puppies. I was one of the daintier of the wonderful pups but I am anything but dainty now! I am very playful and love to wrestle with my foster brother dog. I love other dogs and am pretty sociable with people I meet too. I am told I am very sweet, crate trained and coming along with the house training. I would make a great family member for an active family who would like to take me for walks. You will just melt when I look at you with my wrinkled forehead!

I'm just over four months old which means I can go home a week after you meet and choose me. I'm a handsome boy, mostly brown with a bit of white on my chest. That might sound boring to you but wait until you see me! I have raised fur down my spine which makes some folks think I might be part Rhodesian Ridgeback. I'm a pretty calm boy so long as I have enough toys and chewies to keep me busy. And have I mentioned that I'm housebroken and can sleep all nite in a crate now with no accidents? And that my foster mom thinks I'm awesome?

Winter is sweet, loving, and very docile. She loves to cuddle up right on your lap, with her head right under your chin. She enjoys chewing, as most puppies do. Her favorite bones have stuffing in the middle, but she will settle for rawhide as well. She is a good listener and a quick learner. She is working on "sit" right now, and gets it about half the time. Winter is eager to please and great with children, including toddlers. She is crate trained. She can be timid sometimes, so it is important to be very patient with her and let her tell you what she needs. She is already progressing in potty training, with fewer accidents every day. This little guy came into the Parkersburg Humane Society as a stray. He looks like a Golden or Chow mix with short legs. Whatever his breed, he is adorable. He is partially leash trained and has a great personality.

You can tell me apart from my sister because of my little white sock! I’ve got a big personality and am not afraid to play with my much bigger foster's siblings. I’ve got quite a bit of energy, and having someone to play with me and some toys is my favorite. I also have the cutest puppy snores and dreams!

I love to be held and cuddled but I’m super playful after a good nap. I’m happy to play when it’s time, but I’m the first to say when I’ve had enough and then I like to find a quiet spot to relax. I love to follow around my twin, Jack, and copy just about everything he does.

I’m a spunky but sweet girl who loves both to cuddle and play. I’m definitely fearless and love to explore my surroundings, but I also take great naps alongside my siblings. I’ve got lots of spots under my all white coat so we’ll have to wait and see if they get darker when I’m older!

This beautiful litter of boxer mix pups was originally found in the woods cuddled up against their mom who had been shot and killed. They estimated the pups to be about 5 weeks of age when we brought them in. Winnie is still available.

Woody and Clay came to AFH together. Clay has found his new home but Woody says he is next. Isn't he just ADORABLE!!! This sweet guy is friendly and playful. He is so smart and is great with kids, other dogs, well everyone! Clay is adopted.

Wookie was brought into the shelter by a breeder who could no longer can care for her dogs since her husband died. Wookie lost some hair due to fleas, but is now doing very well and will make a complete recovery.

When Worthington's elderly owner died, he was abandoned at a local convenience store. He was picked up during a snowstorm. Now he is safe in a foster home. He is a wonderful, wonderful boy. He is house trained and very affectionate. He is playful and just loves people, kids and other dogs. He would make a great running partner.
