This handsome guy was dropped off at the shelter with his brother and sister. His foster mom says he is SUCH a great dog! He is wonderful with children and also good with other dogs and cats. Although he has had some potty accidents, he is almost housetrained.

Winston is a great dog. He was given up because his family had a baby, he became overly protective and no one had time to work with him. He has been with a trainer for the past several months and is fully off leash trained. He gets along well with other dogs. Winston is by nature very shy and looks to his people for assurance that all is right in the world. He needs a structured, calm home where his training will be reinforced. He must have rules and boundaries to remain in a balanced state of mind. If you are able to provide this type of home for him, you will be rewarded with the most wonderful dog you can imagine. Winston is truly a remarkable guy. If you have an interest in dog training, are active and don’t have young children, please consider giving him the home he deserves.

This little boy came to us from a horrible mill in Alabama (Yorkie Claus Rescue Effort). He is not available for adoption as he still is getting vetted. Winter was originally adopted as a young puppy from AFH, but is looking for a new home because she does not fit into her previous owner's home situation. She is friendly with people and other dogs.

Hi. My name is Winter and I am a 5 year old Labradoodle. I was used as breeding stock for my entire life and received very little human contact except when I was giving birth to puppies. The breeder even debarked me - for her convenience of course. AFH rescued me and several of my friends from this breeder. Some of my friends have been adopted and some are still in foster homes. I am a very lovable, sweet, gentle, high energy girl. I am also a bit mischievous (ask my foster mom about the pumpkin pie incident). I am also very shy. When I meet new people, my first reaction is to try to get away because I'm just not sure what their intentions are. However, if you spend a little time with me so I know that I shouldn't be afraid of you, I start to get comfortable. Eventually I turn into a lap dog and will follow you everywhere just waiting for a hug or a pat on the head. My foster mom says that I'm a puppy in an adult dog's body. I never walked on a leash until recently but I am doing pretty well with the whole leash concept. I am doing very well with housetraining too - I only have an occasional accident and it's usually my foster mom's fault - just ask her! Since I act like a puppy, I do chew things but I am learning that not everything is for chewing. Since I grew up in an outdoor kennel, most typical household noises were foreign to me and used to scare me quite a bit. Since my foster mom has been exposing me to lots of everyday noises, I am making progress on getting over my fear. I love my two foster brothers (I like all the dogs I've met so far), who are teaching me how to act like a dog. I don't like to brag but I am very smart and have come a long way in the short time I have been with my foster mom. She says that I need a patient home where my new family will expose me to the world and help me be comfortable in it. I just need a little time. Since I am very shy and just starting to get to know people and learning to trust them, I would prefer a home without small children. I don't have an aggressive bone in my body but I might accidentally knock over a small child since I am an active dog. She might be the tiniest of her littermates, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in personality. Camille LOVES to be held and will make the perfect lap dog - she’s even tiny enough to fit in the hood of a sweatshirt! Claire or “Claire-bear” as we affectionately call her is the sweetest girl! Her favorite things include: sweaters, trips to Homegoods to look at more sweaters (and toys) and running around outside in her sweater. Claire is so smart and loves to learn. Currently, she knows “sit”, “bed”, “time to eat”, “potty”, and “come”. She is crate trained and house trained (up to four hours right now). Claire has so much love to give and would make the perfect addition to any family. She loves other dogs, is great with cats and adores kids.

She is just as happy cuddled up in your lap as she is running around and playing. Clover is good with others dogs, cats and kids. She is mastering crate training and house training. Wishbone is a Terrier mix.   He is a sweet, playful boy who gets along with kids and other dogs.  His time was up at a high kill rural pound so our rescue partner pulled him to save his life.

This pocket size bully momma is by far the sweetest girl ever. She is house trained, and walks perfectly on a leash. She has tons of personality, and the funniest facial expressions. She already knows how to sit and wait for treats. Such a well mannered girl!

Meet Wishbone's sweet baby girls! Their mom is a bull terrier mix, their father's breed is unknown. These two little ones have shiny, bushy coats, and big doll eyes. They're happy, playful, and snuggly babies.
