Abby - Female Coonhound Mix - DOB 9/18/2013

Abby was abandoned with her litter of pups. The pups were taken by another rescue but Annie was left with nowhere to go so AFH took her.  She is a very sweet dog that is wonderful with other dogs. She's a saint! We love her, she would make a great addition to any family.

Abby is a Beagle mix. She is a shy little girl who is sweet, people friendly, and does fine with other dogs, cats, and kids.  This poor little girl was surrendered to a shelter by her owner, who was unable to care for her any longer.

Abby is an adorable beagle who came to A Forever Home pregnant from an animal cruelty case. Abby gave birth to seven puppies on April 27, 2019. There are four boys and three girls and they are gorgeous, perfect beagle puppies. Abby’s babies will be ready to go to their forever homes around June 22nd. Be sure to get your application in early as these precious puppies will go quickly.

Abby is a perfect little lady and a classic miniature pinscher at 13 pounds. She is house trained, leash trained and extremely polite. She is sweet and very affectionate. She was picked up by animal control and no one ever came for her. We have seen many times that a wonderful dog was dumped because she was pregnant. Well, their loss is your gain because she is a sweet girl who gets along great with kids and other dogs. She will be able to schedule playdates in my home with interested families after her puppies have had their first set of shots at 6 weeks. She can go to her forever home after her spay which will be scheduled a few weeks after her puppies are weaned.

Abby is a small black lab mix. She is super sweet, likes everyone she meets (human and canine of all ages). She has a big appetite and will follow you wherever go. She is working on house, crate and leash training (crate training not going well but still working on it) she loves plush toys, bully sticks and wrestling with bigger dogs. She would be a great addition to any home.

There is a reason that little Miss Abby is at the top of our 'Available Dogs' list...she is simply A-Mahhhhzing! Picture a 5.5 lb cutie, shining in a gorgeous black coat with white splashes on her chest and tiny toes. Already full-grown, she will perpetually be perfectly puppy-sized! Because she is so small she would do best in a home with older children. Even though she has been with her foster for only a few hours, she loves to go for walks in the backyard on a leash and harness. Grass a little too tall? No problem when she shifts into bunny-hop high gear with a happy countenance and pleased-as-punch prancing style! Abby gets an 'A' when it comes to pure intelligence: she quickly figured out how to climb stairs to reach a friendly lap, and has wonderful eye contact befitting an eager student just waiting to learn new tricks! She already has made progress in potty training, and is able to tolerate the crate for short periods until it is time for another romp! Forgetting her past life where an elderly backyard breeder who kept the dogs in an outdoor kennel with no cover from the elements and a concrete slab for a bed, Affectionate Abby loves nothing more than to be bundled in a warm towel and held while she sighs deeply and gradually closes her beautiful dark eyes for a nap. Meet Abby. As you can see, she is a wonderful, happy, playful girl. She does very well with other dogs and would do great in a home with kids. My foster mom says I am a sweetie. I am very gentle, love to play, am learning how to walk on a leash. I don't get into much trouble yet, but my mom says its all a matter of time as I am all puppy. I am no alpha dog and will roll over on my back so you can rub my tummy whenever you come over to me. I am also a snuggler and will nuzzle my beautiful black nose on your shoulder when you hold me. You are going to have to be a special family before my foster mom will let me go, that's for sure!

Breed: Saint Bernard / Rottweiler Mix

This little girl came to AFH with her sibilings. Their mother was a pure-bred Rottweiler and father was a pure-bred St. Bernard. Unfortunately, their mother was killed, accidentally, when she climbed out of her kennel and slipped. They were well cared for from birth by a vet and his daughter. Their tails were docked by the vet before giving them up for adoption.

Hi! My name is Abbey. I am a 10 month old Lab/Hound/Dalmation mix. If you are looking for a good running partner that can keep up with you I'm your girl. I may have a slightly shorter leg then the others, but that does not slow me down any. As I just love to run and prance around as if I am bursting with joy. When after our run you are looking to relax I can turn into a big love bug if you are willing to share your lap for a big baby like me. I am crate trained and my foster mom says I am mostly housebroken, but I think it is just that she doesn't know my signal. I'm afraid it isn't very obvious. Otherwise being a Lab mix I am a pretty smart girl if I do say so myself and can do quite well especially if there is food involved (That's the hound in me). Will you let me share my joy with you?

Abby is a beautiful 7 month old black spaniel mix. She came to AFH very scared and terrified of people. Her mother and brothers were kept in a fenced back yard and thrown scraps of food. They had very little human contact. Their next stop would have been in a south western Virginia landfill where they would have to hunt for any food they could find. With the help of a loving foster, she has come out of his shell and is starting to trust humans. He is sweet, gentle and still somewhat shy. She is bright and intelligent and looking for a permanent, loving home.

Abby is being returned because her main caretaker is unable to provide her the care that she deserves. She is crate trained and house trained. She is great with children, having been raised around kids. She is also good with cats, which is surprising for a Beagle mix. Her current family has two cats and she likes to play chase with the younger of the two.

Hi my name is Abby. I am a medium sized dog. I have really come out of my shell. I love to play so many new games and feel more comfortable around new humans. I have been told that my snuggling ability is right up there with the best ever. I walk very well on a leash and I am crate trained. She's super sweet and calm. She would be great for older people or for people with children. She is just a gentle soul.

Abby is a proud new momma of 10 gorgeous pups. She'll care for her babies until they're old enough to go to their forever homes. Then, she can be spayed and it'll be her turn. She was flown to her foster in the NOVA area from North Carolina, and will soon be searching for her forever home while caring for her pups in a warm, loving home.
