Allie came from the Valentine Breeder Dogs Rescue effort. She is sweet, calm, beautiful, and has long silky fur. She likes to walk around wagging her white fluffy tail, but doesn't play or run. She is social, loyal, and gives great greetings. Allie is doing very well with house training but isn? fully housed trained yet. She is good with children and other dogs, but will do better with dogs that are not very dominant.

Allie is a beautiful, regal, very loving lady. Her face is very expressive, she looks you right in the eyes and holds your gaze. I think she was crated way too much because she came to me not house broken and really did not want to go up and down the stairs. It looked like it hurt her to do so and she even limped a bit. She's been with me for about four months and now, she is doing great. She is working on being house broken and goes up and down stairs. She'll even beat you up there! She even plays with her 3 month old foster sister every now and then. Her crate is still her "safe" place and she will need one in her new home. Allie is spayed and up to date on her shots. She is an older girl who loves to go for walks and does very well on a leash. She gets stressed out on car rides. She doesn't get sick but does drool and sheds a lot, showing her stress. She loves to lean against you when she wants to be pet and will put her head in your lap if you are sitting in a chair. She will lay on the bed with you for a while but prefers to sleep on the floor or in her crate. If you are looking for a laid back, loving, engaging older dog to love, Allie is your girl! Please let her teach you what unconditional love is.

Allie is the best little pupper! She is eager to please and will do anything for a good chest or belly rub.  She is not food aggressive and is very gentle on toys.  She walks well on a training leash and is learning basic commands.  Give her a soft memory foam dog bed and she will be in heaven.

Yook is a happy, playful, sweet puppy. He is the largest of his three brothers. He is smart, athletic, easy to work with, and very eager to please. Yook is learning to walk on a leash, about impulse control, and basic position changes (sit, down). He loves to play tug and to chase balls.  He is crate trained and almost housebroken (he has not had an accident since he has been with us, and sleeps through the night in his crate without making a mess). He does well with other dogs and has yet to meet a person he doesn’t get along with. Yook can be a bit pushy, which makes him appear to be more confident than he is; he needs the humans around him to help give him direction. He will make a wonderful companion for a family who is willing to make sure he is stimulated physically and mentally each day and given clear rules and boundaries. He is a herding breed, so he will not be best suited to a sedentary lifestyle.  We would love for you to come and visit this wonderful puppy at our home where you can really get to know him.

I'm Ally, a 9 years young Jack Russell. I'm being rehomed due to a move and new addition to the family. I'm a friendly dog and get along well with everyone. Like most Jacks, I love to be on the go all the time and can get excited easily so it was decided it's best for me to go to a home that will have more time for me. As you can see from my pic, I'm a great looking girl and very sweet and lovable. I seem to get along with most dogs though cats are always iffy with my breed. Don't let my age fool you - many jacks live to the age of 15 or more so I'm still in the middle age category. Come see me on Sundays and I'll show you in person how sweet I am. By the way, with an older dog you get added bonuses - I'm housebroken and past the chewing woodwork stage of my life!

Hi Karen, I wanted to send you a few pictures of Ally (aka Sandy). Her first night went pretty well. She fell asleep in the living room on a blanket so I carried her in the blanket to her crate and stayed with her while she fell asleep. She cried a little each night at first, but only from when we first put her in the crate to when we got upstairs (her crate is in our kitchen, near our front door). She doesn't cry anymore when she goes in the crate. Most days Erik is home with her and sometimes she chooses to go in her crate to nap. Sometimes she'll just settle in on a blanket in the living room to be near him. I was surprised that she made it through the night without an accident right from the start. She'll walk on her leash without pulling (most of the time) and we started puppy kindergarten 3 weeks ago. She knows "sit", "down", "stand" and "shake". This week we'll try to teach her "stay". She's very lovey-dovey with everyone. She plays so well with other dogs and she's met a lot of people (our puppy kindergarten suggested standing outside Walmart with her to meet lots of people, which was a little weird, but she made a lot of people smile and she gave an awful lot of kisses). Alma's pups are a litter of 8 pups came to us from the Parkersburg Humane Society. Pictured here are the last of the litter, Emma and Cody. Cody is adopted! The best guess for their breed is boxer/catahoula mix. Cody is a very cuddley, and kissy once he gets to know you. He gets attached quite easily and will follow you around everywhere. He loves going on long adventures to creeks or rivers. He is still getting used to water but he gets braver and braver the more he goes. Like pretty much all dogs, rawhides do not bring out the best in him. He has always been a little shy around other dogs but is worked on, on a daily basis he will soon be very comfortable around others. Still in the process of learning to be crate trained and potty trained, but will learn over time. He is very easy to train as far as basic commands; Sit, Stay, Come, Shake. He will be a little shy at first when you meet him, but once he gets to know you, he will warm up to you and love you forever. Emma seems to be a daddy's girl; she loves men! She's not quite aware of her size and thinks she is smaller than she really is. She also loves going on adventures to the creek, as well as to the Dog Park. She is still a little shy with other dogs but is learning day by day that most of them are just as friendly as she is. Emma is very goofy and silly in her own way but when faced with a predicament, she is very intelligent and cautious. She is also still in the process of being crate trained and potty trained. She loves curling up into her parents beds and usually ends up hogging most of it. Emma is quite the charmer and is so very excited to find a family to give her a forever home.

Alpine is one of 4 lab/shepherd mix puppies born on 3/22/14 in a private home in WV.  These little cuties are all chubby with shiny, soft coats.  Alpine is definitely the "alpha" puppy in the litter: she decides which toy she wants and that's that.  Alpine is a little bundle of energy who'll make sure you get lots of healthy exercise if you make her part of your family!

This little boy was found wandering free and was placed in a porta potty where he was rescued and taken to a shelter. His owner came back to claim him, only to turn around and try to sell him to a breeder. He is now safe and sound in an AFH foster home. More to follow.
