…Hambone is the long haired dachshund and basset hound mix from A Forever Home. He’s 13.5 years old, and has lost 25 pounds from his original obese weight…Hambone is still kickin’ and living the good life. I have also rescued another dog, a golden retriever/chow chow mix that I’ve named Casserole…Here they are hanging out together! I am also in regular contact with Hambone’s foster mom, Suzanne. 🙂
The winner of our Air Fryer raffle is Laura Revilla. She is pictured here at center, accepting her prize, along with her daughter (left).
An AFH volunteer donated the fryer and an Aldie gift card to provide support for our Brownie’s Fund. Brownie’s fund pays for medical care for dogs with extraordinary expenses. One recent dog was Rylie, who required multiple surgeries after being hit by a car, shortly after giving birth to 14 pups! Mom and pups have all found their forever homes.
Lane wrote to tell us about losing her beloved Daisy. All of us at AFH extend our condolences on her loss.
We decided to put Daisy down today after a long fight with cancer.
She was diagnosed with a spleen tumor a year ago, a number of fatty tumors and then an awful skin mast cell tumor. But she endured it all. The cancer must have spread this last few weeks she was unable to eliminate more than a few drops of urine at a time. She was obviously in pain no matter how hard she fought to hide it with her smile.
We adopted her from your organization in November 2014 when she was 7yrs old. My daughter and I trick-or-treated at her foster mom’s house and she was wearing her “adopt-me” vest. My daughter fell in love and was ready to take her as a “treat” that night 🙂
Just wanted you to know Charlie is doing great in his new forever home. We just love and adore him!!! Thanks again for all your help!! Jenny and Matt. 🙂
