We are back safe and sound from the Gulf Coast! Four volunteers took two vans packed floor to ceiling with your donated supplies to one of our shelter partners. Not only were they overwhelmed by your generosity, but they are paying it forward. They provide food to low-income people in their neighborhood – with a focus on senior citizens.
We brought back 31 dogs. To date, 9 of them have tested heartworm positive, and one of those has a heart murmur and has to have every single one of his teeth pulled. This is a result of blatant neglect. This particular dog, a 4 pound Chihuahua, is probably the worst case. After his heartworm treatment, cardiology care, and dental work, this one little guy could cost us up to $10,000. We also have to treat the other 8 for heartworm, and do basic vetting (spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, etc.) for the rest of the dogs.
We need your help. We made a commitment to these dogs so they will get whatever they need to be restored to health so they can enjoy a quality life. Can you help us with a donation toward their care? Any amount helps and is truly appreciated.
Watching these dogs being restored to health is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Knowing that they were neglected and abandoned by their families is horrible, but knowing that we can make them better – with you help – is heartworming. Please click the Donate button on this page to help them.
Thank you for being there for them.
