How You Can Help

We need your help to make our Foundation a success...

• Volunteer -- Because AFH is a 100% volunteer-run organization, we can not function without your help. In particular, we need: foster homes, transporters for adoptions and vet visits, handlers at adoption days, and helpers at fundraising events. • Donations:
  • Cash Donations -- Please donate generously so that AFH can help more cats and dogs in need. 100% of your tax-deductable donations go directly to the care of our animals. Donations can be made online via PayPal, JustGive, at any of our adoption events or can be mailed to: P.O. Box 222801, Chantilly, VA 20153-2801.
  • Donation of Supplies -- AFH always needs newspapers, crates, cages, leashes, collars, and food. These items can be dropped by any of our adoption events.


• Estate Planning:
  
  A bequest to A Forever home Rescue Foundation, Inc. through your Will or Trust helps ensure that we can continue to carry out our mission of helping homeless and abused animals receive the care they need.
  
  By remembering A Forever home Rescue Foundation, Inc. in your estate planning, you can leave a legacy that will benefit future generations of animals and help provide for our future work. The federal government encourages these gifts or bequests, by allowing an unlimited estate tax charitable deduction.
  
  There are various methods for making such a bequest.
  • A specific bequest allows you to leave a specified gift in the form of a cash distribution. To make such a bequest use the following language: “I give, devise and bequeath to A Forever home Rescue Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 222801, Chantilly, VA 20153-2801 the sum of (insert amount) to be used for its general purposes.”
  • A residuary bequest allows you to leave a “remainder” of a percentage of your estate to A Forever home Rescue Foundation, Inc. To make a residuary use the following language: “I give, devise and bequeath to A Forever home Rescue Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 222801, Chantilly, VA 20153-2801 all (insert percentage amount) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, to be used for its general purposes.”
  • A contingency bequest allows you to make a gift contingent on certain circumstances. To make a contingency bequest use the following language: “If any of the above-named beneficiaries should predecease me, I hereby bequeath his or her share to A Forever home Rescue Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 222801, Chantilly, VA 20153-2801 to be used for its general purposes.”
  • If you already have a Will, you can use the suggested wording to write a codicil (an addendum) that names A Forever home Rescue Foundation, Inc. a beneficiary of your estate.
